Masters Of Mayhem!Special Delivery: Analog Tee by Lowercase Industry

Tee and stickers

I normally hate receiving mail because it consists mainly of junk, bills, catalogs, promotions and some dude I hardly know getting married. However, when I got home last week, I saw an unfamiliar looking package thrown into my house entrance, and to my glee and joy it was marked with the Royal Stamp, which meant it came from England, which in turn meant it came from Lowercase Industry!

After tripping all over my cat and fumbling into the house, all because of my sheer excitement, I managed to calm myself down and pull out the trusty camera to take the picture above, and then subsequently began to open the package. Inside was a tee and a few stickers that Lowercase Industry had produced and sent to me for a stress test, which I am more than happy to oblige.

Design, Color And Concept

If you are musically inclined or looking for something to go to clubs with, then you would simple love this shirt. The design itself pay’s homage to the Roland TB-303 a synthesizer produced by Roland in the 80’s.

The amount of detail put into the illustration is amazing, and the placement of their logo blends in perfectly with the design itself. No complaints here. The colors are cool and smartly executed: any more colors and it would be overkill.

Screen Printing Quality

Amazing. This is a two-colored job [black and brown] that was printed on a Khaki shirt. The detail in which the image is shown is intricate, and only a fine screen printer with really good equipment can produce text that is so tiny. The lines are crisp and clean, and there is no inconsistency in the final print. One minor tiny complaint would be that perhaps the paint used in the run itself may have been a little thick, or perhaps for this particular tee which I had received had been run over twice. In any case, it’s something that seasoned screen printers and anal people like myself would notice, but to the naked untrained eye it would be perfect. This tee is also sweatshop free.

The Details

T-shirt quality

Lowercase Industry uses super premium Fruit of the Loom tees, so the quality speaks for itself. I’m in Asia, and it’s pretty much hot here all year round, but I can safely say that the material is really good for our weather. In fact, I believe you can rock this gear in all weathers albeit winter. The thread count itself is good and the shirt’s got a really nice snug cutting, but if you are one of those guys who prefer baggy stuff, then don’t forget to order two sizes bigger. Me, I like ‘em snug.

One small issue is that I don’t quite like threads being visible, and personally I prefer them to blend in and match the exact same color of the shirt. This is just a small thing and it’s a personal objection, but I’d still rock this shirt any hour of the day because the design overrides everything else.

The Last Note

Priced at 20 pounds, it may be a little costly for Asians, but with that said, it’s definitely worth every penny. Individualism and personality is on everyone’s conscience these days: everyone is very much aware that they are each unique. People are much more conscious of the brands they choose, and in this case if you are anti-brand/corporation, then I would seriously suggest that you get one of Lowercase Industry’s tees. You get the feeling that these tees weren’t made for sheer profit, but rather out of passion and believe.

These shirts have limited runs, meaning that they are pretty much limited edition, and you won’t be able to buy these anywhere else in the world. Lowercase Industry gear is only sold online so far, so the chances of someone wearing this gear around you is pretty much close to nil. Now THAT’S what I call individualism!

You should also check out some other amazing stuff, like their artwork, stickers and badges that he has ready for purchase as well. Would I buy these stuff? Well, let’s just say that I’ve already found some really nice X’mas gifts here.

Woah..Nice and thorough product review Alan. I’m sure Lowercase appreciates it as much as you do for receiving the shirt.
I know someone who would love to have this tee. ;)

  2. Thank you Kat. I’m glad you like the review, and yeah, it’s a very very cool shirt. You should see some of their other stuff as well, they are all pretty amazing. I like it when a designer designs something out of passion, instead of churning out designs that are meaningless and just downright dumb. A lot of corporate t companies come to mind when I say that, but not this LI.

Getting free stuff is cool, but getting free stuff like these just makes my year. :)

  3. hey that Tee is so nice!! :) good for guitar lovers

  4. Yep, you’re quite right… its a bloody cool design, you should check out some of his other stuff as well. They kick ass.

  5. Goos stuff man. I need a good gift this year you hear…
