Hindraf Gathering

This is not your normal post, but then again this weekend was not quite as normal as it should have been in this otherwise peaceful country. Yep, in the background of the first pic is our world famous KLCC and in the foreground you can see the FRU shooting teargas and chemical laced water cannons at a large crowd of gatherers. Why? All because the Hindraf [Hindu Rights Action Force] wanted to submit a petition to the British High Commission, citing that the ethnic Indians were not represented properly in our government.
As a Malaysian, I truly understand the reason for the gathering: it was done not just for the ethnic Indians but rather for all races in this country, for us to proudly call ourselves Malaysians, something that I personally have not felt in a very long time.
A close friend of mine was there in support of the rally, which started out as a peaceful gathering and ended up resembling a 3rd world war zone. Al Jazeera’s Hamish Macdonald was there among the crowd, and the television report shows governments how NOT to handle a peaceful gatherings.
Anyway, here’s 5 steps on how we could stop all this shit.
